The fine print

Privacy Policy.

Effective September 21, 2026

1. The short version

JANE DOE CEO is built around anonymity. You do not need to give your name to tell your story — not on the hotline, not by email, not through the form. We collect as little as possible, we redact everything that could identify you, and we never sell your information.

2. Who we are

This policy covers janedoeceo.com and the Show’s intake channels. JANE DOE CEO LLC, based in Nashville, Tennessee, is the data controller for information collected through them.

Contact: (629) 299-0600 or tell@janedoeceo.com.

3. Information we collect

Depending on how you reach us, we may collect:

Hotline calls — the audio of your message, the phone number you call from, and the date and time of the call.

Email — your email address, the content of your message, and any attachments or details you choose to include.

Anonymous form — whatever you type into the submission form, plus any optional contact details you volunteer. A name is never required.

Chat widget — the messages you send through the on-site chat and any contact details you choose to provide there.

Basic technical data — such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited, collected automatically by our hosting and third-party services for security and analytics.

4. How we use information

We use the information we collect to:

review, edit, redact, and — if selected — feature your story in the Show;

respond to you, if you gave us a way to do so;

operate, secure, and improve the website;

comply with law or protect the rights, property, and safety of JANE DOE CEO and others.

5. Redaction — our whole thing

When a story is used in the Show, identifying details are redacted: names become █████, locations and companies are generalized, and audio is edited to remove anything that could give a person away. We edit in the spirit of the Show — you get the story, you don’t get the name.

You can help by leaving out names and identifying details in your submission in the first place.

6. Sharing information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:

service providers that help us operate the website and intake channels — including our story form provider, chat widget provider, hosting, email, and phone services — each bound to process information on our behalf;

professional advisers where reasonably needed;

authorities where required by law, or where necessary to protect someone’s safety.

Stories themselves — once redacted — are published as content; that is the point of the Show.

7. Third-party embeds and cookies

The homepage embeds a third-party story form and a chat widget, and the site may use cookies or similar technologies through these services and our analytics. These providers may set their own cookies and receive technical data such as your IP address when they load. You can usually control cookies in your browser settings; blocking all cookies may affect how parts of the site work.

8. Data retention

We keep submissions and contact records only as long as needed to review and produce stories, respond to you, and meet legal obligations. Material we decide not to use may be deleted or archived. Hotline recordings and form submissions may be retained in archive for editorial and legal purposes.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we hold. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure — which is one more reason the safest submission is an anonymous one, with no names included at all.

10. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live — including under Tennessee, other U.S. state, or European law — you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing.

To make a request, email tell@janedoeceo.com or call (629) 299-0600. We may ask you to verify details of your submission so we can find it — without asking who you are.

If you submitted anonymously, we may not be able to identify your submission, which is a feature of the design, not a refusal.

11. Children

The Show is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has contacted us, let us know and we will delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version will always be posted here with its effective date.
